What is it like to live in Bellville, TX?

   Bellville, TX is a rapidly growing community outside of Katy, TX attracting young
professionals with families who want to raise their children in a small-town
atmosphere with access to work in Houston and surrounding areas. Our community
boasts an in-town population of 4206, with multiple new subdivisions of custom
homes on 1 to 5 acre tracts just outside the city limits and is known for bluebonnets,
scenic drives and Friday night lights. Bellville is ideally located just 20 minutes from

I-10 and US-290, allowing easy access to any part of the Houston metropolis.

 

   Bellville is the county seat of historic Austin County and puts on an annual Austin
County Fair & Rodeo, paying homage to the community’s agricultural roots. On the
first Saturday of each month, the city holds a Market Day on the Square and a
Farmers Market. Additionally, our town hosts the Texas Select Custom Cutlery
Event, the largest custom knife festival in the country made famous by the TV show
“Forged in Fire,” as well as putting on an Annual Small Town Christmas event,
where downtown Bellville & nearby park are transformed into a winter wonderland.

 

   Bellville is home to local-area tourist attractions such as the Historic Austin County
Jail Museum, Newman’s Castle, 7IL Ranch and the San Felipe Museum. The
nearest movie theatre is 20 mins away in Brenham which is also headquarters of
the Blue Bell Ice Creamery. Katy Mills Shopping Mall and Typhoon Texas
Waterpark are approximately 30 mins away in Katy.

 

   Bellville boasts two outstanding educational institutions. The first is Bellville ISD, the
public school system classified as a Texas 4A academic & athletic institution, one of
the best in the area. Bellville ISD excels in both boy and girl athletics fielding some of
the strongest state teams in football, volleyball, tennis and baseball. Additionally,
BISD’s high school band and One Act Plays qualified and placed at the state level
this past year. Moreover, the AG/FFA program is considered one of the best in Texas.

 

   Faith Academy, the second educational institution in Bellville, is a private Christian
school offering an outstanding Christ-centered education with strong athletic and 4H
programs. Faith Academy’s girls’ basketball and volleyball programs won the state
championships in 2022. An appealing aspect of FA is the smaller class ratios of 15:1
in junior/high school, 20+ for elementary and a well-respected preschool program.
FBC Bellville has strong relationships with both institutions with many administration

and faculty members attending First Bellville.
